a wedding, madonna and sunburn
those three things pretty much sum up my weekend. on saturday, i went to melissa and stephen's wedding. which was a great time, i had a fun date (someone i picked up at the wedding after realizing we both thought coconut was parmesan cheese), ate delish food, and continued the sara tradition of dancing like a freak. good times.

i headed home early sunday to meet my friend marisa who came down to hang out and go see madonna. the concert was awesome! i cannot even describe it. it was thought provoking, uplifting, artful, and more importantly well worth the cost of two tickets. monday i headed to the beach with the extended perrone family (micki, monica, et all) and spent time getting my ass kicked by strong waves. but i did get some color. and a little sunburn, but i was prepared and have been aloeing it up each chance i get.

i went again to madonna last night(that is where the price of the second ticket came in) and had an equally good time.

now, i have to buckle down, stop spending money at target and walmart (so hard), get a resume together, and also really unpack and organize.

happy tuesday, ladies.

cool article
was reading something thought - oh, yea, this is me...
Due to the dismal job climate over the past several years, workers have become more dissatisfied. They have taken on more responsibilities and toil longer hours for the same pay. Leaders are seen as out-of-touch and incapable. Burnout is rampant. And the fear of losing one's job often postpones badly-needed vacations to recharge causing even more burnout.
an englishman in New York
I never know what to title these things...maybe I should wait until after i am finished writing and then pick a title based on the theme. and maybe i will use a song title as the subject line, because that would be fun. yesterday i logged on and caught up on everyones lives and became so depressed that i started writing quite a downer of an entry. so i just logged off, watched maid in manhattan on starz and ate. i am such an emotional eater, it is scary. i completely stopped any attempt at the south beach diet because it is too strict and weird for me. however, i did discover that i felt better with less carbs so that is what i am going to try and do. Have carbs for lunch, and try to keep away from that at dinner (with exceptions of course). I am so super jealous of Pachman's weight loss...I need to get on the pony and start moving. Btw, lauren, sorry about the fool comment. It read stronger than I intended but either way was rude. I am sorry. Anyway, on to other topics like how much I love Target. I went Friday night out of boredom and closed the place down. I got xmas shopping done, bday shopping, some stuff for the apt. i like going to the mall or target or wherever with no expectations, that seems to be when I find the best buys. Anybody watch the cast of will & grace on Inside the Actors Studio on Bravo (great show)? I was disappointed that with seven people, they only did an hour and it was not really revealing at all. Kind of boring, especially considering the cast and the usual atmosphere of the show. Things I learned while watching it though: Eric McCormack is SOOO much more of a ham than Sean Hayes. Sean Hayes is hot. Megan Mullaly is cool. Debra Messing really has no chest. I want the DVD of the first season. That's about it, oh, and Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard sing well together and should just announce that they are an item. Seriously, they way they look at each other (i flipped to the ama's)...Other than that, my weekend was blah. Except for seeing Love Actually with hope. Great movie, definitely worth checking out. And now I am completely obsessed with Hugh Grant. Man, did he get sexier with age. Ok, now I am off to see if I have seen all of Hugh's movies plus Colin Firth's who is second in my love of men with english accents. Have a good day everyone.

ps - anyone who guesses who sings the song in my subject line gets a shout out in my next entry...what i want to do is find "an englishman in New York"

my neck hurts
i slept badly in my hotel last night. my entire right side is in intense pain, i cannot look to the right or tilt my head all the way back. i have what i think is a zit there, but now i am getting paranoid and thinking a spider bit me and paralyzed me. i know, i am nuts.

so, i know most of you know my roommate, bonnie strauss. or atleast heard of her, since she is a sister but i have to vent.

we moved in july 5th. the week before we were at a wedding (my little little) and she said she had broken up with matt the gnat (her bf - my name for him) and brought a different guy to the wedding. all of a sudden on move in day, there is matt, driving their van. thats a saturday. bonnie asks if he can stay, since he was helping us, i said sure. the next day, sunday, bonnie asks if he can stay again. I say sure. I travel the next week and arrive home late friday. Matt is there. saturday, i wake up, matt is there, saturday night, sunday morning - matt is there. sunday afternoon they go out...bonnie walks back in later, matt follows with his suit and tie for monday. no questions, just walks in.

flash forward a week. I decide to have a talk with bonnie. the minute i bring it up, she is like "oh, i know, i know, i have to plan it better so that he is here when you travel...yadda yadda yadda." I explain that i don't care if he is there when I am gone, but weekends need to have some matt free time. especially sundays, i was adamant about sundays after 8pm. Do you know what it is like to watch sex and the city with a dumbass who thinks he's funny?

now i have had only time when i have been in my apt for ten days straight, and the average is 2 or 3. every single sunday that i have been home with the exception of one, guess who has been staying over? matt the gnat. also, he makes comments about how he is my other roommate, he calls the apt "our apt", he has never, not even once, said or even hinted at the fact that he is THERE ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME!!!!!

Please tell me if I am crazy. I am planning on another conversation with bonnie this weekend. but seriously, am i being unreasonable?

Tomorrow I am flying to Portland, Oregon to see my cousin who I have not seen in 18 months. I wrote about this before but I am just really excited about seeing her. She is only a year younger than me, our moms are really close so I spent most of my childhood and all family events with her. It is weird that I haven't seen her in so long. Her parents and brother moved out to arizona 2 years ago, and I haven't seen them either. My aunt came to NJ for a wedding 2 wks ago but I was at a client in Wisconsin so I missed her. Which makes me hate my job. It keeps me from seeing my friends and family, and all the plans I make have to be set way in advance. It bites. But I think in a year, I'll be doing something else. No more "glamorous" life for me.
On another note, I am trying to give up more tv, I have it down to 2 must sees a week. The West Wing and Gilmore Girls. Yea, no friends on my list, though I will watch it. And I will cry like a baby during the series finale. I always do. I cried at the Fresh Prince of BellAir and Family Ties and even 90210 (although Dawsons just made me kind of giggly). Well, I should go, maybe I will write from Portland. I don't have a digital camera yet so no pictures to upload. Long live the Goonies!!!
